5 weeks to go … who's counting?

Final injections a couple of weeks ago, passports returned with Tanzanian visas stamped … it's all beginning to look real [as if it wasn't!]. The Egypt part of the trip is now 8 days — originally 7 days — so more time in the Land of the Pharoahs … excellent!
The bulk of the trip in Kenya and Tanzania is about the wildlife, especially the migration of the wildebeest. We hope to meet native people and find out about their culture. Also to visit the elephant orphanage we found out about in a series on the ABC, "The Elephant Diaries", the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, on the outskirts of Nairobi. Perhaps even a balloon flight over the Serengheti. We are definitely visiting St Jude's, a school founded by Gemma Sisia [Rice] an Australian woman featured on "Australian Stories". Sheryl wants to check it out with a view to volunteering as a teacher mentor sometime in the future. Sheryl's birthday will be spent in Dubai, so a-shopping we will go. We'll be also be on the Nile in a boat for a few days as part of our time in Egypt. We are so very excited by the prospect of visiting places and countries, that are so incredibly different to what we're used to, and what we experienced in our honeymoon in 2004.
